Abstract

Tourism is an important social phenomenon that impels travel to new destinations. The purpose of this paper is to examine destination competitiveness regarding the tourists’ perspective in Greece. The guiding principle of this study concerns the tourists’ perspective, the overall competitiveness of a destination and whether or not it is dependent upon the perceived quality of tourism experience. A comparative work on a wide range of tourists’ behaviour from different nations about destination competitiveness has multiple benefits for tourism stakeholders.
